What do you do?
Prak: I run Precinct, an object store & contemporary gallery on Ghuznee Street, Wellington. Nadya runs ENA, a womens concept store across the road. It’s all very cute.
What could you imagine doing if you didn’t do what you do?
Nothing, but also everything at the same time. Simultaneously we both enjoy what we do immensely, and making a positive impact on our local communities being small businesses. But at the same time, we know it has it’s limits and doesn’t come without sacrifices, and we debate those regularly over a couple of vinos!
Why do you go to galleries?
To have our eyes opened and challenge certain ways of thinking. It is also a very lovely thing to do together.
Tell us about a recent discovery?
Six weeks in isolation can be very good for the soul.
If you could own any work of art, what would it be?
Ronnie Van Hout, Quasi, 2016.
Why collect?
Collect is at times a hard word for our generation, too loaded perhaps? We generally like to use the word support. We support a lot of young like-minded artists that we have been lucky enough to know, been introduced to, or work with in some capacity. It is also incredibly refreshing to see how someone looks at the world, and have the ability to live with that perception.
