What do you do?

Aside from painting, I also have a full-time office job, doing administration. I love it.

What could you imagine doing if you didn’t do what you do?

Sometimes I fantasize about being unemployed and binge-watching TV full-time. Or going back to university. Or being an interior designer.

What images are pinned to your studio wall?

No images, I find bare spaces more inspiring. I hate pieces of paper on the wall.

The first artwork that made an impact on you?

Probably encyclopaedias and natural history books when I was a child. Especially anything that related to birds. Also, The Muppet Show.

Who is your ideal studio buddy?

Nobody, I like to be alone when I paint.

What are you listening to?

I listen to the BBC World Service every day.

What are you reading?

I love reading so much but haven’t managed to finish a book since I finished university. I am currently watching the new seasons of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, The Real Housewives of New York and The Real Housewives of Orange County. A new season of my favourite franchise, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is coming out next week.

If you could commission someone, anyone, to write up your work/life, who would it be?

Maybe Camille Paglia. I love a lot of her essays, especially The Stiletto Heel.

What does your medium (painting, photography etc.) do?

Something mysterious.
